Top Ten Tuesday #6 – 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

TopTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This particular top ten post makes me really, really sad considering all these books released last year and I’ve wanted to read them so, so bad, but I couldn’t. Why? Review obligations, blog tours, laziness, exams. You can choose. BUT I’m pretty sure I won’t let 2015 pass me by without reading these. Here we go, in no particular order:

Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

What about you guys? Have you missed any of these releases? Read any?

Top Ten Tuesday #5 – Books I Really Want To Read, But Don’t Own Yet

TopTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

There can only be two or three reasons I don’t own books that I want to read. They can be:

  • I’ve exhausted the money supply I keep aside for buying books.
  • They aren’t available at my local bookseller.
  • They’re too expensive.
  • They need to be imported and Amazon’s shipping rates are kicking my ass. (I know The Book Depository is an alternative since they do ship to India free of cost, but a close friend of mine had a terrible experience with them, so I’m a bit wary to order from them)

So, without further ado, in no particular order:

Ten Books I Really Want To Read, But Don’t Own Yet

Have you read any of these? Thoughts? Let me know!

Top Ten Tuesday #4 – Books I have to like, totally read, like, right NOW

TopTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week’s TTT is about ten books that people really tell me I should read. So instead of going the traditional route, I asked my younger sister (as you can see clearly in the title itself) what books, she thinks I should read. And so here I present to you,

Top Ten Books I have to like, totally read, like, right NOW

1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

2. Skellig by David Almond

3. A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Kids (Shakespeare Can Be Fun!) by Lois Burdett, William Shakespeare

4. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

5. Judy Moody (Judy Moody #1) by Megan McDonald

6. The Goosebumps Series by R.L. Stine

 7. The Geronimo Stilton series

8. Any and all Dr. Seuss books

9. The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling

10. The Planet Thieves (The Planet Thieves #1) by Dan Krokos

I think the cat’s out of the bag by now. My sister is exactly 10 years and 9 months as of today 🙂 It was great doing this particular post. Let me know of your TT books in the comments below!

PS – She placed the Harry Potter series on #9 even after my incessant pestering pleading to re-consider. Obviously I’m a shitty sister 😦

Top Ten Tuesday #3: Books I’m not sure I want to Read

Top Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Top Ten Books I’m not sure I want to Read

1. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov  Lolita is about the incestuous love of a 38 year-old man towards his 13 year-old step-daughter. The entire story revolves around the psyche of this sick bastard and how Lolita “tempts” him. No. Just, NO.

2. The Infernal Devices Series – One word: Shadowhunters. Besides, I’ve kind of read Cassandra Clare’s writing back when she was a fanfiction writer and meh. Not for me.

3. The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare – Again, refer to #2. But that being said, hey. I might read this book. Just for, you know, mindless reading stuff 🙂

4. Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling – Like many, many of you 90s kids, I’ve grown up anticipating the next Harry Potter book and movie too. Rowling created a type of magic that was so beyond us mere mortals that I cannot ever, EVER, let myself be disappointed by her. What if Casual Vacancy does?

5. The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer – For those of you who’ve read it: HAVE YOU SEEN THAT LEG? No seriously. I can’t. I just can’t see beyond that creepy fucking excuse for a leg.

6. The Game of Thrones series by George R. R. Martin – I will never understand the appeal here. I even tried the television series, but if I needed to watch porn, I’D FRIKKIN’ WATCH PORN.

7. The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth – I will read these books. Someday, I will. The only reason they’re here right now is because right now with the movies coming out and the entire hype around them, I’d never be able to judge the books based on the books themselves. So, yeah.

8. Gabriel’s Inferno series by Sylvain Reynard – The University of Edward Masen by Sebastien Robichaud, anyone? Yeah. It used to be (bad) fan fiction.

9. Any and All Agatha Christie Books – The writing is just not my thing.

10. Any and All James Patterson Books – Ghostwriting is something I’m not fond of. So, no.

There you have it! Books that I’m not sure I’ll ever read. Should I really read any of these? Any books you agree with me on? Let me know!
